Survey Crew Party Chief

Vector Geomatics has a full time position available for a Senior Survey Crew Party Chief. The successful candidate will have at least three years experience as a survey crew party chief in the Oil and Gas industry and will also have a solid understanding of the use and application of GPS technology.

Survey Assistant

Field Survey Assistants are required to assist the senior crew Chiefs on a day to day basis. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate a good work ethic and who want to build a career in the survey industry. This is a starting position but survey assistants can progress to positions of responsibility if they demonstrate an interest and aptitude for field survey work. Opportunities will be given for training and advancement.

GIS Technician

The GIS technician will help lead the development of Vector Geomatics GIS department. This includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance of a GIS database, creating, maintaining and disseminating maps, reviewing and quality controlling mapping products.

The ideal candidate will have post secondary training and/or education in GIS from a recognized and accredited institution, with specific experience using the ESRI suite of software (Arcinfo/ArcGIS, Arcview, ArcSDE, ArcIMS). The successful applicant will also have a demonstrated background and understanding of GIS principles and practices, experience with VB and AML programming, plus a sound understanding of SAFE FME, MS Access, relational database fundamentals, SQL. Demonstrated cartographic abilities are a must.

Knowledge and experience with ArcObjects (or MapObjects), SQL Server, AutoCAD general database design, knowledge of GPS data collecting and post processing, networking and system design knowledge, imagery processing experience (satellite and/or orthophotography), and substantial GIS analysis experience will be considered an asset.
